im making 9/11 sale ads at work, nobody will listen to me about how much of a bad idea it is

i really hope they ditch that tasteless idea. this is why graphic designers don’t get along with marketing departments - if their crappy ideas get approved, we still have to execute.

Open parentheses.

For a long time, I was obsessed with Ben Folds - way before Chat Roulette (remember that??) but somewhere after Brick (too depressing). I have a list of piano songwriters that I love (Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple, etc.), but I don’t think there was anyone that did post-80s-pop-piano the way he did (intro to Zak and Sara, anyone?)

This is one of my favorite Ben Folds songs (I have many faves though), featuring William Shatner as a 90’s new-age womanizer of sorts. There are truths in it though. (I am a cynic.) ..in love.

End parentheses.

Quote
"When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less. A moderately bad man knows he is not very good: a thoroughly bad man thinks he is all right. This is common sense, really. You understand sleep when you are awake, not while you are sleeping. You can see mistakes in arithmetic when your mind is working properly: while you are making them you cannot see them. You can understand the nature of drunkenness when you are sober, not when you are drunk. Good people know about both good and evil: bad people do not know about either."

Watch Charles Schulz draw Charlie Brown:

But I guess Charlie Brown is mostly me. That’s why he often has that dumb expression on his face.

and:

When I feel low, this is when I come home and really pour it on poor old Charlie Brown. This is when he really suffers the most—when I suffer the most.

Humanae is a project by Angélica Dass that catalogues people by the Pantone value that closest resembles their skin tone.
It’s interesting enough as an art piece, but it has great value as a reference guide for designing (and, of course, colouring) different character types.

Rebecca Sugar created this guide to drawing arms and legs for her show Steven Universe. She says:

I wanted to get the most anatomical information out of the least amount of lines.
